Review Policy & Contact Info

Nicole S.
My Book Filled Life
Terms and Conditions
I. Introduction
I've been blogging for over one year and have had many instances that make me very wary of accepting books from authors. This contract is not only because of my experience, but of other bloggers that have been having a hard time as well. The agreement has been created so we have an understanding of what's going to happen when I review the book, and how you can help the process run smoothly.
II. This will be my review
If I review your book, that means it will be in my own words. You will not tell me what to add or take out or saying that my view is wrong. If you put the book in my hands you give me full rights to say what I want about it.
III. If the review is not flattering
I read books that are good, and some that are not so good. If I give your book under three stars, I will contact you to see if you still want it posted. Not many bloggers do this... it's always "Too bad so sad". I want you to succeed, so if you don't think my review is flattering, I won’t post it. This also reverts to rule one. I will not change my review because it's not flattering. Keep in mind that not everyone will love your book, even Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter -- which are loved by many people -- have gotten criticism. You're no different.
IV. Other social media sites
I will post these reviews on my blog, Amazon, and Goodreads. If you have another place you want me to post or don't want Amazon or Goodreads, please tell me. I will not under any circumstances harass any fellow bloggers on these sites for you.
V. Act like an adult
Yes, this has to be said. If you don't like something I've said in my review or don't like a certain aspect of how I post them, no name calling, swearing at me, or threats of any kind. I have seriously gotten these, and I'm sick of it. You're a professional... don't think my review is going to damage your sales immensely.

VI. Conclusion
I'm a really nice reviewer and am not out to get you. My goal is to help you succeed, and if you think you're a good fit contact me back with a big "Yes!" and I’ll get started right away. If you don't agree with any of these terms, I'm sorry to see you leave and I hope you'll think of me in the future. Again, this is typed out because of my past, not because I personally think you're out to get me. We both have a passion for books, and I'd love to review for you!
Thank you,
Nicole S.

My ratings explained:

1/5 - Did not like
2/5 - Not bad, but not good
3/5 - It's almost there
4/5 - I really like it
5/5 - It's Amazeballs!

When I post my reviews, I always like to explain what I liked and didn't like about the story; I will also rate other factors of the book, including:

- Plot: Was it realistic or did it hover the edge of insanely unbelievable?
- Characters: Are they realistic, or do I want to punch them in the throat?
- Writing: Does the story and conversations flow, or is it stilted and uncomfortable? Are the phrases realistic or over the top?

I will do my best to read and post reviews within 3 weeks of receiving the book, but please keep in mind I work full-time and have 2 school age children. Excpetions will be made if a
book review is needed sooner than 14 days.

I will accept books from the following categories:

- YA/NA

- Romance (suspense, comedy)
- Mystery/Thriller (including cozy mysteries)
- Paranormal
- Erotica (including M/M, F/F, BDSM, menage)

I own both Kindle and Nook and prefer to read eBooks, although I sometimes go back and

will read a physical book from time to time. I will post my reviews not only here on my blog,

but also on Goodreads, Amazon, B&N and LibraryThing.

I can be contacted at mybookfilledlife@gmail.com

Thanks!

Nicole

  1. Requesting a review
    Hi,
I just got your details from Theindieview.com website, and although I'm new to this I thought I must give it a try. My romance book, The Heart's Melody (43,500 words, 224 pages), is the story of Noa, a mature Israeli Jewish woman in her fifties, who, in order to understand the miracle of life, allows the unexpected to happen. She is developing a complex romantic relationship with Amar, a young Arab man of twenty-eight, who she meets at an empowerment and self-awareness course.
This book also contains fifty paintings selected from a collection of works by the author, each of which is designed to express the atmosphere of the chapter it accompanies.

I would be grateful if you could review it. You can see it on Amazon.com,
    here:
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JAP2BJY/ref=rdr_kindle_ext_tmb
In 8/26/14 my book will be free in Amazon.
Furthermore, I’ll be happy to refer people to your website post and mention it on the editorial reviews section.
    Regards,
    Chava Epstein

  2. Hello!

My name is Kyle and I am the Recruiting Manager for Bliss Book Promotions. BBP is a new promotional site serving authors of all genres. I would like to invite you to become one of our bloggers.

Bliss Book Promotions is a new twist on an old concept. We provide our authors with several blitzes and blog tours, just like lots of companies, but we do it a bit differently.

If you have signed up for a tour with other companies, you most likely had to fill out a google docs form entering all your information. When the opportunity to partake in another tour with that same company came, you had to go through all of it again. You would select the day you had available and then wait for the end of the signup period to find out what day you are assigned.

BBP changes that. Now, you enter your information once when you register on our site and thats it. With our custom campaign registration pages, you get to pick your own day based on visible availability and will be notified with a confirmation within 24 hours. These features save you time and allow you to plan your other reviews and posts accordingly. Also, your campaign post information (formerly "tour packet") will be assigned to you when your campaign registration is approved, provided BBP has received all information from the author. If we are waiting on excerpts, review copies or guest posts, you will be notified via e-mail when we have uploaded the documents and assigned it to you. If you ever have a question, there is an integrated private messaging feature right in that same dashboard.

Currently, we have 5 campaigns available for registration with 3 additional ones in process. I hope you will take a moment to check out our website, www.blissbookpromotions.com. We would love to have you as a member of the BBP family!!

  3. I would like to submit the following titles for review:

    Love's True Second Chance
    Blurb
Join Debbie and me for the love of a lifetime. From the halls of high school, to the joys of her accepting my class ring. Journey farther through a terrible break-up and the chance encounters in college where the wounds from the past still haven't healed.
And finally, after thirty years, a reunification that will embark on the most intense love affair I could have ever imagined and the lessons in life, I had all but forgotten.

In the end, is “true love” worth a Second Chance even if it means a tragic end? The answer is an emphatic YES!

This is a true love story.

    Cracking UP!
    Blurb
Joe Robertson’s life never panned out. In college, he was a top draft pick until his knee blew-out in the NCAA Championship game on what he claimed, was a cheap shot by Drew Waters. Choosing a second career in construction, he clawed up the ranks, becoming the top Civil Project Manager in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. But that didn’t last. A scandal broke out; he was accused of offering bribes to state inspectors. The allegations were never proven; the damage was done. The only job he could obtain was a foreman’s position. But that wouldn’t last.

The only saving grace was his wife Julie, until she was involved in a horrific traffic accident that would launch them into a macabre dance of, betrayal, sex, murder and redemption.

WARNING! This book contains strong language and adult, erotic situations. Not recommended for ages under twenty-one.

This is one hardcore love triangle packed with betrayal, sex and murder.
J.J. is my pen name in erotica.

    Look forward to hearing back.

    Sincerely,
    Jeff Dawson
